Dr. Amol Raut is a postgraduate and doctorate in microbiology. He pursued his doctoral research under the Pune University-BARC collaborative research programme at Department of Microbiology, University of Pune and Food Technology Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
His doctoral research was in the area of molecular microbiology and radiation biology, involving studies on molecular typing, host-pathogen interactions, radiation sensitivity and molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in pathogens

Dr. Raut was also associated with Praj Industries Ltd., Pune with its R&D centre (Matrix-The Innovation Centre), for around three years in capacity of a R&D scientist and worked primarily in the area of fermentation, strain improvement and effluent recycle in different fermentation processes. At Praj he was actively involved in designing, optimizing and scale up of fermentation processes from laboratory to plant level. Dr. Raut also functioned as the R&D project leader (Fermentation) for Asia’s first cane juice to ethanol plant, commissioned in India.
Dr. Raut has keen interest in the area of molecular microbiology, host-pathogen interactions and industrial fermentation processes. He is trained in the area of PCR based detection of pathogens at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. He also has received training and gathered experience in the field of Animal Tissue Culture at different institutes including, NCCS, Pune.
Dr Raut has published/presented more than 16 research articles in different national and international scientific journals and symposia, and has over 26 gene sequence submissions in the electronic domain for gene bank (NCBI). He has been involved in collaborative research work with different national research institutes. He is also thoroughly involved in training and education activities for graduate and postgraduate biotechnology students, for last several years. His academic activities involve delivering seminars/expert lectures, organizing hands-on training workshops for students etc He is responsible for entire research activity, implementation of diagnostic technologies in the company, development of newer ones, optimizing and establishing existing protocols and upgrading of existing technologies.
GeneSupport – India’s First Comprehensive Nutrigenomics Platform has been founded by Dr Amol Raut in association with Mr Sachin Purohit, Managing Director GeneOmbio Technologies Pvt.Ltd. Dr Raut has played a key role in collaborating with DNA Lysis Biotechnology South Africa for launching Nutrigenomics Services in India.
Dr Raut now heads GeneSupport in the capacity of CEO , GeneSupport.
